In celebration of Franciscan’s 75th Anniversary Jubilee, Franciscan University alumni, led by Father Dave Pivonka, TOR, ’89, are making a unique and historic gift.
Father Dave has commissioned artist Blair (Gordy '15) Piras to create an original mosaic of the Blessed Mother to cover an exterior wall of the J.C. Williams Center. Our Lady of the Angels will be installed this fall and unveiled on December 10, 2021, our 75th anniversary.
The total cost to create and mount this magnificent artwork is $75,000, and Franciscan’s alumni are leading the fund-raising effort. A dedicated group of alumni have pledged $37,500 toward this project—50 percent of the goal! And they challenge all Franciscan alumni to help match their gifts by contributions of any amount to help raise the remaining $37,500.
The fund-raising effort will begin on October 1, the month Catholics traditionally dedicate to the Most Holy Rosary, and it will continue throughout the month until the goal is reached.
We’re already halfway there, thanks to the generous alumni who made the first gifts toward this beautiful mosaic. Now your gift can help us cross the finish line! Please show your support for Father Dave and your alma mater by contributing to this lasting remembrance of the Blessed Mother’s protection over Franciscan University.
Our Lady of the Angels, pray for us!
